MUSEVENI'S BULL TREATED FOR $2MILLION

In 2004, Museveni's favourite bull became sick and veterinary doctors who attended it said it was going to die. Museveni refused to hear of this and he sent for vets in South Africa to treat it.

They also said they could not do much about it. Museveni brought in vets from the Netherlands and they said the same thing. They said the best they could do would be to put it to death with a lethal injection so it dies without pain.

Museveni asked if it was possible to get its semen out and freeze it so it could continue to inseminate cows even after it is dead. The doctors did so.

A State House official grumbled that the total cost to the Ugandan taxpayer of this project to save Museveni's bull came to two million U.S. dollars.
