Gerald Kiddu was murdered by Karim Hirji

It was a murder that shocked Uganda in 1998 because the victim, Gerald Kiddu, was a popular motor rally driver and a friend to many people.

Radio Katwe can now exclusively reveal that Kiddu was murdered in 1998 on orders of the hotelier and property man, Karim Hirji.

The murder took place on a night in Bunga outside Kampala and for many years the killer has remained unknown --- until now.

Radio Katwe has information that the man contracted by Hirji to murder Kiddu was none other than the serial killer who made news in 1998, Richard Arinaitwe.

It will be remembered by many that Arinaitwe used to frequent the health club and gymn at Karimfs Hotel Equatorial in the 1990s and it is there that Arinaitwe was contracted to kill an American woman who worked as a CIA agent in her room at Equatorial.

During a court hearing of the case, the huge Arinaitwe tried to strangle the woman magistrate presiding over the case. He is now in jail in Luzira.

He became known as a professional killer and he used to confide in one of his friends that he was hired by Karim Hirji to do his dirty work.

Some reports in 1998 say Kiddu cheated Karim of 10,000 U.S. dollars and others said that Karim was angry that Kiddu had said he wanted to go and start a business of his own.

Any of that could be true, but we should also remember that Karim is a front man for the businesses of the Museveni First Family and it is Museveni who owns the Entebbe Imperial Resort Beach Hotel.

Museveni personally has a suite at the hotel all to himself which is complete with bulletproof glass and sometimes he has been seen coming to the hotel to relax and get away from the stress of his work and enjoy the company of selected guests.

Gerald Kiddu might have come to learn the dirty dealings of Karim and a certain Yoweri Museveni knew that he would be exposed.
