University students reject Museveni

Museveni's campaign tour at Makerere University yesterday evening of Feb 20th was a flop.

Only about 100 students turned up, most of them from Musevenis home area (Bahima).

For much of the previous day Feb 19th, Museveni's campaign agents drove around Katanga, Makerere campus, and Wandegeya calling on students to turn up for the rally as they played loud music

However, the students not only refused to turn up at his rally, but hundreds of them booed at Museveni who came to the campus accompanied by a heavy military escort, armored "Mamba" vehicles and military police patrol cars. They told him to go away but he persisted in showing them his NRM partys thumbs up sign. The students shouted at his convoy and chased after it down right to the main gate.
